Specifications

What is the fit of this jacket?

Fitted cut with raglan sleeves for full range of motion on the trail. Layer it under a fleece or down jacket for extra warmth—just size up for the perfect fit.

Anything to add about the hood

Height-adjustable hood with elastic cord and drawstring | Semi-rigid visor for added protection | Triangular side openings enhance peripheral vision

How waterproof is it?

With a 20,000 mm H₂O waterproof rating, taped seams, protected zips, and a 3-layer membrane, this jacket stands up to heavy rain and keeps you dry in any conditions.

What are schmerbers?

The Schmerber rating measures fabric resistance to water pressure—the higher the number, the better the waterproofing. At 20,000 mm H₂O, this jacket withstands a 65 ft water column for reliable protection in heavy rain.

What is a membrane fabric?

The 3-layer design sandwiches the membrane between the outer and inner fabrics, delivering lasting waterproofing and breathability—perfect for reliable performance on every hike.

Why use a ripstop fabric?

Waterproof jackets often trap heat and moisture—but not this one. It features breathable fabric and large side vents to keep you dry inside and out.

What is a ret index?

Thermal Evaporative Resistance (RET) measures breathability—the lower the value, the better. With a RET of 6, this jacket offers excellent moisture wicking during active hikes.- RET ≤ 6: highly breathable- RET ≤ 12: breathable- RET ≤ 20: Low breathability With a RET of 6, this jacket guarantees great humidity evacuation during physical effort.

How to look after your jacket

Zip up the jacket, turn it inside out, and machine wash at 86°F (30°C). Use a small amount of detergent—ideally for waterproof gear—rinse twice, and wring gently to maintain performance.

How to restore the water-repellent properties?

Three ways to restore water-repellency:- Tumble dry for 15 minutes to reactivate the built-in treatment- Wash with technical gear detergent, then apply a reactivator- Use a water-repellent spray treatment

Product Testing

Our Decathlon Sportslab laboratory, based in Lille, also contributes to the innovation and development of our Quechua products. As well as numerous field tests, we test products in a laboratory according to the desired properties (e.g.: shower test for waterproofing, wind tunnel test for windproof properties, etc.).
